Parent Teacher League Mtg

Dear Parents,
Thank you to those who were able to attend the PTL meeting last Thursday. We
were able to get some great conversations going on how we can work together to
help the school.
However, we need much more help! Our mission is to work together with families
to create a school that will help students flourish.
Sonshine Christian School’s mission is to work together with families,
providing a high-quality, individualized, Christian education that prepares
children physically, spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually, to impact
their world for Christ.
My goal would be that each parent would be able to donate a few hours during
the year. We know it is not easy, which is why at the next PTL meeting on
November 15th @ 5:30 we will have dinner for those who come and there
will be child care! We will also have a Zoom link if you are not able to attend in
person. Please mark it in your calendars!
A few goals the PTL decided on this year are:
1. Help raise funds for new elementary school computers.
2. Raise funds for a future DC trip for our middle school.
3. Help with the school auction.
4. Help appreciate the Sonshine staff and teachers.
*With teamwork I know we can accomplish much more

Volunteer opportunities:
1. Nov. 17th- Whole school Thanksgiving dinner. We will need at least 5
volunteers to make this happen. Volunteers can help cook items at the
school, cook a turkey at home, clean up, set up, and serve. We will need
volunteers from 9:30-12:30. However, you do not need to stay the whole
time, volunteer what you are able to.
2. The middle school will be doing monthly fundraisers and we will need help
organizing this. Some examples are a bake sale, candy grams, and coffee
on the curb. We will need volunteers to help set up the fundraiser, take
students to the store, and set up signs. You can volunteer for one month or
multiple.
3. School auction- We need people to help solicit donations and organize the
decorations. Mrs. Lee has a list started, we just need people to fill the
forms out and email sponsors.
4. During teacher appreciation in May, we need a few parents to come watch
classes so our teachers can have lunch together. We also need a few
parents to help organize a small gift.

Thank you so much for all you do for your child and helping us keep our mission
statement true. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting!
