Lead Wobbler Teacher

Lead Wobbler Teacher
Sonshine Christian Early Learning Center is looking for a Lead teacher interested in working with older
infants and wobblers. We are looking for a candidate who is energetic, flexible and willing to support the
growth and learning of assisting staff in the classroom. We are also working towards becoming an
inclusive and supportive environment for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in our community. As such any
candidate must be willing to use sign language with children and staff or be willing to learn for this
Education and Experience
 High school diploma or equivalent
 AA in Early Childhood preferred
 Experience working with children between the ages of 6 months – 2 years.
 It is preferred that the person selected for this position be a born again Christian. A willingness
to teach and support the tenants of Christianity are a requirement.
 Comfortable with sign language or willing and excited to learn
 Must be willing to or already meet the requirements set forth in Washington State
Administrative Code
 Be flexible, nurturing, caring and be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others
 Relate well with children and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the staff
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
 Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
 Assist in cleaning and care of the center
 Implement daily activities with other teachers
 Integrate the Bible, spiritual concepts and prayer in daily activities;
 Supervision of children;
 Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and in assuring the well being and
safety of the children in care.
 Work cooperatively with all staff;
 Treat all children, staff and families with respect and dignity;
 Attend all staff meetings and/or required training programs and conferences;
 Department of Children Youth and Families Background Authorization through Merit
 First Aid Card/CPR card
 HIV training
 Blood borne Pathogens card
 Results of a one-step TB test prior to starting work
 Food Handlers Card
