Middle School Teacher
The 2023-24 school year will be my 11th year teaching at Sonshine Christian School. I love being able to teach not only the core academics, but also the Bible. One of the many things I love about teaching at Sonshine is the small class sizes. With a smaller class size, I can ensure that I am focusing on providing a more individualized education for all of my students (challenging those who need to be challenged and giving added support to those who need the support). I love how Sonshine is a family. Staff, students, and parents are all there for one another.
I use many ways to communicate with families. I send out emails with important information. I also use Remind to send quick announcements to parents.
Before coming to Sonshine, I taught for one year at another local private school, I was a substitute teacher for 3 years at the local school districts, and I was a special education one-on-one at a private school in Battle Ground. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from City University and my Master’s Degree in Education from Warner Pacific.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading mystery books, acting, photography, and spending time with my family.
I look forward to meeting all the new families and catching up with the current families.
A verse that I hold close to my heart is Hebrews 6:19 “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” (NIV)
