Snowmagedon hit Sonshine hard!

2016-17 has so far been a very icy and snowy year for us at Sonshine. Sonshine Christian Elementary follows the Vancouver School District’s decisions for early releases, late starts, and closings due to weather. Sonshine Christian Daycare will often stay open unless it is decided that conditions aren’t safe for travel for daycare staff. This past week, snow began falling on Tuesday night and by the morning had piled up to 14 inches at the school. Although we have been working hard to clear our parking lot, it is still quite a mess and I know that many people are still not able to even get out of their neighborhoods! Parents may be wondering if we will have to make up the days that we have missed. We will be looking closely at how many hours we have missed and whether or not we will need to add extra days. We will let our families know as soon as we have made a decision. I hope you have been able to enjoy some time playing in the snow with your children. Hopefully we will be able to get back to our normal routines by next week. Hang in there!
