Preschool & Daycare Programs

Our Preschool program runs Monday thru Friday, 9:00 AM -12:00 PM. We offer a scripture-based curriculum as well as themes we study each month. Each of our classes uses its own individualized curriculum based on its student’s current interests (Emergent Curriculum). Our classes build upon each other so that your child will be socially and emotionally prepared to enter kindergarten.

The children involved in our preschool program will experience different “Special’s Classes” throughout the week.

Chapel

All of our students (Daycare and Elementary) attend chapel together. This gives them a chance to learn about God and the Bible through music and interactive stories.

Music

In music class, the students have the opportunity to explore their creative side as we sing, dance, and play instruments.

Library

Once a week our students attend Sonshine’s school library. Mrs. Johnson, (The Librarian) teaches the students the importance of reading and caring for books. She reads fun and interactive stories, and the children love trying to guess what is in her “mystery box” each week. The students are even allowed to check out books to be kept in their classrooms.

Cooking

Cooking is a time where our preschoolers can have the chance to create their own delicious snacks, and learn more about how the food we eat is made.

The Three and Four-year-old preschool class helps to establish a positive attitude and comfort level in a school setting. Children gain confidence through experience. We provide hands-on opportunities for creative expression. In our preschool class, the students will be introduced to letters and their sounds, numbers, socialization skills, and listening skills in a caring Christian environment. This class prepares the children for a structured preschool setting while focusing on socialization, group interactions, and problem-solving. We encourage Christian growth by modeling and teaching Christian values, reinforcing God’s love for the children, and teaching them through Bible stories, songs, games, and crafts. Every month we focus on a new theme, selected by the students, allowing the class to learn a wide variety of information throughout the year.
